A vibrant large scale watercolour and gouache painting from inspiration taken from a walk through Gopher Wood in Wiltshire. The bluebell season was at its height in May and the flowers appeared pale mauve one minute, and deep blue the next as the sunlight filtered through the trees.
In this piece I wanted to convey the dense foliage of the woodland floor, with barely space to place your feet between the masses of bluebells and nettles.
The scale of this painting is impactful, and the colours are glowing and naturalistic.

The painting is presented unframed for safe shipping. It has a deckle edge and can either be floated onto a backboard or finished with a mount.
