I am next exhibiting my watercolour and mixed media paintings at Marlborough Open Studios in Wiltshire the weekends of 13/14 and 20/21 July 2024.
Kate Wade, contemporary British landscape painter
I am a landscape artist living and working in Wiltshire. Painting predominantly in watercolour and gouache (body colour), I also use media such as acrylics, acrylic inks and oils to make my work, depending on what I feel will best convey the characteristics of the subject.
Inspiration for my paintings invariably comes from the natural world, in all its infinite variation. The countryside and coast provide endless combinations of colour, pattern, shape and texture – beauty in the biggest sweeping vistas and the smallest seasonal changes.
Q&A
Do you paint commissions?
I am happy to undertake commissions provided that the brief fits within my normal subject matter and style of
painting. Prices are based on the size of the required painting, any travel involved and the amount of preparation work required.

Do you run watercolour classes?
I run classes throughout the year near Marlborough in Wiltshire, and can provide individual or small group lessons at my home or other locations.

If I can trigger a moment of longing or nostalgia in the viewer, then I feel that it's a successful image.
