Spring Sky

Limited edition Giclée print of an original acrylic painting. This view of the Oxfordshire countryside in spring typifies a bright and changeable afternoon in April. True to form there were showers, followed by intense sunshine, followed by more heavy pinkish-grey clouds – ideal weather for painters!

The intense yellow of the oil-seed rape could be almost too much to look at, but is softened here by the rounded shapes of the trees, some just in leaf and others still skeletal from winter. The foreground is viewed through a tangle of undergrowth and a scattering of bluebells.
